1980 - 1992 Wolfsburg Edition Rabbit Convertible / Cabriolets

• 1983 marked the beginning of the "Wolfsburg Edition" convertible, and the sales campaign continued until 1992.
  


• Wolfsburg Editions came with small Wolfsburg badges (see pic) on the front fender, between the door and the wheel.
  


• There were no mechanical changes for the "WE" (with the exception of a few optional features), and all mechanical or technical specifications were the same as the base models for that year, however, they did have a few cosmetic enhancements, some years more than others.
  


• Contrary to what the name and badges might appear to imply, the "WE" models were not built at the Wolfsburg factory, but were in fact build right along with all the other convertibles, at the Karmann factory in Osnabruck, Germany.
