Mk2 Disk Brake UpgradeInstructions
This is how things look before you attempt the upgrade, all dirty and ugly.

Well things will change soon, first jack up you car and use stands to support the vehicle.
Remove your wheels to give you access to the disks.
We have acquired ATE cross drilled and grooved jobbies and Textar pads.

Loosen the 2 allen key nuts (6mm) and remove one of the pads.
Put the caliper back into position and tighten one allen key nut.
Loosen the brake fluid reservoir cap.
Use a lever and push the caliper piston back in position to accept the newer thicker pads and disks.

Once the piston is pushed back into it's location.
Loosen the calipers and disk by removing the philips screw holding the old disk in position.
Remove the old disk.

Replace the old disk with the new item.
Tighten the philips screw to hold the disk into position.

Fit new brake pads and anti-rattle/squeal clips.

Fit calipers and tighten the allen key nuts.

Finished items... looks the biz.
You can opt to go bigger on the disks or do the above upgrade.
If you go bigger on the disks ... you will have to replace the hubs as well.
This upgrade was done on a VW Golf II 1.8 GTi.
You can do the big disk upgrade, by fitting 16V hubs, disks and calipers.

While you're at it... clean the calipers and paint it with a high heat caliper paint. This will enhance the look especially if you have open mags to show off your disks.
